Eczematous dermatitis is an inflammatory skin thingy.
General
Histological findings are nonspecific - the DDx:[1]
- Spongiotic drug reaction.
- Mycosis fungoides.
- Tinea.
- Viral exanthems.
Microscopic
Features:
Chronicity:
- Acute: epidermal intracellular edema (spongiosis) +/-intraepidermal vesicles.
- Subacute: spongiosis and parakeratosis.
- Chronic: psoriasiform epidermal hyperplasia - see lichen simplex chronicus.
