Granulation tissue forms when wound heal.

Gross

  • Looks granular, ergo the name granulation tissue.

Features:

  • Blood vessel rich - key element.[1]
    • Small size ~ ~25 micrometers in diameter. (???)
  • Proliferation of fibroblasts - key element.
  • Inflammation (esp. lymphocytes).
