: I have to look at this issue again. I noted that that template has 'vauthors' - and these don't show-up in the reference list. If one changes it to 'authors' they do show. I have to look at the templates in Libre Pathology to address this. Michael (talk) 14:08, 28 January 2020 (EST) |

Welcome to Libre Pathology!
Here are few useful pages:
- How to edit - describes the wiki mark-up.
- Format - describes the format of the site.
- References - describes how references are done quickly.
- Sandbox - a place to try edits.
If you have questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with me on my talk page or via email. Michael (talk) 02:47, 18 March 2015 (EDT)
References in PubMed & doi
There is a relatively quick way of generating PubMed references:
- Find the PubMed abstract & determine the PMID, e.g. 21193945
- Goto: http://librepathology.org/cite-gen/
- Enter the PMID.
- Click 'Generate'.
- Copy & paste the text in the 'Result' box into the wiki page you are editing.
I tweaked a few references you added. A digital object identifier (doi) can be turned into a hyperlink by putting double braces ( and ) around it. Preceding said, if you use the cite-gen (see above) -- it automatically generates a doi link from the PubMed reference.
I hope that the above doesn't seem too complicated. If it isn't clear-- I'll explain more. Michael (talk) 18:20, 28 March 2015 (EDT)

Image annotator
I recently added the (javascript-based) image annotator of the WikiCommons (WC) to Libre Pathology (LP). Images annotated in the WC now display in LP!
Examples of pages where you can see it in action:
- Craniopharyngioma
- Carcinoma ex pleomorphic adenoma
- Myxomatous degeneration
- Mucinous fibroplasia
- Signet ring cell carcinoma
This has been on my todo list for a while. I think it will be quite useful.
The image annotator is described in all its glory here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Gadget-ImageAnnotator
I have noticed a time delay in the loading of the annotations -- in some cases. I'm still looking at that issue. If you try out annotations and they don't propagate through to LP let me know.
Also, I should mention, images in the galleries do no show annotations.
In any case, I'm thrilled to see that you are making changes! Michael (talk) 03:03, 11 April 2015 (EDT)
Split out of myxopapillary ependymoma
I am delighted to see that you split out myxopapillary ependymoma from ependymoma!
You were missing a:

I fixed that and the image. Michael (talk) 12:28, 27 April 2015 (EDT)
Anything on the wishlist? Policy development
I'm delighted to see that you are editing a lot! If there is anything on your wishlist let me know. I'll see what I can do.
I am currently working on some policies/guidelines. If you have any interest in this or thoughts on where things should go, I am happy to have your thoughts.

Wishlist - development work
Hello,
>Guidelines on histopathological images are certainly helpful.
I have a tiny bit on microphotography. I honestly haven't thought much about a policy-- that said, I created a section for policy development (see: Libre_Pathology:Todo#Policy_development).
>How many pictures?
I don't have a number yet for "too many".
I do think if an article has too many creating an additional page called something like "Additional images of NAMEOFDIAGNOSIS" might be the solution. I still need to think about this.
>Different magnifications?
I love different magnifications.
>Immunostaining figures?
Very useful. More generally, I want to start generating pages on immunostains. I started a brief todo list for IHC. A well-designed infobox I think would be a big plus.
Preceding said, I think developing the special stains articles first might be better. It is my impression that there are few good sources on the internet that pull together info on special stains. Well done pages on special stains would draw people to the site/raise its profile.
>Minimum requirement for a sufficent picture (size, quality, balance)?
I do want good pictures. Preceding stated... I'm not picky at the moment. A less than good picture, in my humble opinion, is better than no picture.
Also, some of my early pictures were really crappy... then I learned. Someone doing crappy pictures now may learn and do amazing pictures later.
>Is there any open source format for slide scanning? -> Idea: Virtual microscopy with annotations.
I started a section for this on LP:Server#Virtual slides.

User page
I created a very simple user page for you. Feel free to change it how ever you want. Michael (talk) 22:21, 4 June 2015 (EDT)
Upcoming changes
I sent you a brief email about the server. Michael (talk) 03:11, 16 October 2015 (EDT)
Citation generator (cite-gen)
I have noticed empty results occasionally. Interesting is that the other template generator ( http://tools.wmflabs.org/citation-template-filling/cgi-bin/index.cgi ) linked to here: Libre_Pathology:References#External links - also gives me empty results... when the cite-gen doesn't work. I suspect it is an upstream PubMed problem, i.e. the PubMed website is sometimes unresponsive to template requests. Great to see you're back! Michael (talk) 09:19, 5 April 2016 (EDT)
The Silver Microscope
You're a much valued editor! Here is a small token of appreciation: The Silver Microscope. Michael (talk) 12:23, 22 June 2018 (EDT)

Login issues
I haven't had issues with the login, though I have been logged-out automatically. I will look into this in - in the next two weeks. I am planning to upgrade the software. I hope that will be the fix.
If you happen to be going to ECP2018 (in Bilbao Spain) - it would be great to met-up. Michael (talk) 10:42, 26 June 2018 (EDT)
Citation generator
I am using this: https://tools.wmflabs.org/citation-template-filling/cgi-bin/index.cgi
(The older tool was maintained and doesn't work with the newer MediaWiki. I haven't found a local solution yet.)
