Ischemic enteritis is ischemia of the small bowel.

General

  • Typically elderly and due to atherosclerosis.
  • Rare.
  • High mortality.[1]
  • May occur together with ischemia of the colon, i.e. ischemic colitis, in which case it is known as ischemic enterocolitis.
