Silicone granuloma, also known as siliconoma,[1] is a foreign body granuloma elicited by silicone, which has been used in breast implants.
General
- Presence is used as a basis for litigation.[2]
Microscopic
Features:
- Foreign body-type granulomas with giant cells.
- Translucent foreign material - seen with polarized light.
