Prognosis benign

Venous lake is a benign skin lesion.

General

  • Dilated vein.

Clinical:

  • Blanches with pressure.[1]

Gross

  • Purple/blue spot.

Microscopic

Features:[2]

  • Lined by endothelium.
  • Blood in lumen.
  • +/-Fibrin in lumen.
  • +/-Solar elastosis - very common.[3]
